52 Days of Prayer: Day 4

Absorb the Word

Before you read the Bible, ask God to speak to you from His Word. As you open the pages to read, look at these words as a love letter to you from God:

Read Colossians 1.

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him—you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ (I Peter 2:1-5).

Turn Scripture into a Personal Prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, I lay all malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and evil speaking at your feet. Purify my heart. Like a newborn baby, I desire the pure milk of the Word. As I read Your Word and obey, I know I will grow in my spiritual walk with You. Jesus, You are my only hope of glory. I have trusted You to save me by Your power. I want to also trust you for each problem and allow You to reveal the hidden treasures of Your wisdom. Through You my life can overflow with joy. Amen1
