52 Days of Prayer: Day 12

Sing to the Lord

Continue singing today. Hum or whistle if you feel you cannot sing. At least speak the words aloud as if reading a sacred poem. If you play an instrument, use it to praise and glorify your God. Perhaps God has a song or poem or story for you to write. Maybe He has something entirely different in mind for you to do to bring praise to Him today.

 Turn Scripture into a Personal Prayer: 

In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory.

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:12-21

Sweet Jesus, I am awed to think that I can come without fear into Your presence and be assured that You gladly welcome me anytime I draw near to You. Give me strength today from Your glorious, unlimited resources. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and by Your power work within me. I treasure Your gift of love although its limitless dimensions are beyond my understanding. To You be glory and praise forever! Amen.1
