Today, lets remember the times of laughter and joy. We need balance. Ecclesiastes 3:4 days: “[There s] a time to weep and a time to laugh.” Lighten up. Rejoice! I will say it again: Rejoice!
- Purposefully put joy, laughter, singing, and thanksgiving into your prayers today.
- Make a long list of reasons for rejoicing: Example: Rejoice in your salvation. Rejoice in the forgiveness of sins. Rejoice in God’s love.
- Smile often, at nothing in particular, for no reason at all. Smile when no one else is around. Smile in the dark. Smile as you extend prayers of thanksgiving.
Turn Scripture into a Personal Prayer: Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.Philippians 4:4-5
Lord, I need to be reminded often to rejoice in You. Your joy gives me strength. I want to be one who spreads cheer from the well of abundant joy You have given me and to do it with a gentle spirit. Amen.1
