Turn Scripture into a Personal Prayer: II Timothy 1
I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy. I am reminded of your sincere faith… II Timothy 3-5
Heavenly Father, when I read Paul’s letter to Timothy, my heart is warmed. I can sense the love he has when he calls Timothy his dear son and prays that the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord will shower on Timothy kindness, mercy, and peace. Paul reminds Timothy that he prays for him every day, and many times during the long nights begs God to bless him richly. These are the prayers I want to extend to my faithful loved ones. I pray for myself and those dear to me that we who have accepted God’s gift of the Holy Spirit will be wise and strong—that we will not be afraid of people but will love them and enjoy being with them. Stir up this inner power within me so that I will never be afraid to tell others about my Lord! Amen.1
