Sounding the Trumpet

Summit 13 Header

Dear Praying Titus Women,

 In Numbers 1-10, Moses was ready to lead the people of Israel into God’s Promised Land. Israel had just witnessed God’s mighty hand deliver them from the slavery of Egypt; He carried them as if on Eagle’s wings, and they experienced firsthand His voice of truth, His presence of love and His promised provision. Yet instead of a people standing with Moses, ready to move forward, excited and expecting God to grant them the beautiful life He promised, Moses found Himself dealing with a stiff-necked, hard-hearted, un-submissive people full of complaints, cravings and criticism. Jesus had given Moses the tool for victory ahead of time: sound the trumpets (Chapter 10). He says, “When you must gather before His Tabernacle, sound the trumpets. When there is an assembly, sound the trumpets. When the enemies attack you, sound the alarm with the trumpets. In times of gladness, blow the trumpets.” The interesting discovery is there is no record of Moses ever doing so. I wonder what would have taken place if He had heeded this instruction.

 Ladies, The trumpets are blowing. Can you hear them? There is a battle raging against the people of God like I have never witnessed in my lifetime. We want to invite you to join the Titus team for special unified prayer, “sounding the trumpets.” During Easter Week, March 25-29, will you join us as we offer focused, sacrificial prayer and some form of fasting in preparation for the upcoming Discipleship Summit? Let us ask Him to search our own hearts, provide the necessary funds for attendees and summit expenses, summon women to set aside the dates in the midst of a very busy life for attending, anoint all those ministering from musicians to maintenance, and for hungry hearts to hear and respond. Let us believe together for God to pour out His Holy Spirit in a fresh, powerful work among us like never before. We are sounding the battle cry for God to have mercy! Pray as if your life depends upon it! It does!

 Thank you for uniting with us in prayer – Jesus is longing to answer. (Isaiah 30:18)

Meet AnnaBeth

We’re thrilled to welcome AnnaBeth VonGruenigen to Titus Women as our new intern. AnnaBeth will be working in the office, providing administrative support and working with me (yay!) on special projects. You may meet her at the Discipleship Summit or if you drop by the Ministry Center, so please make her feel welcome!

Hi! I am AnnaBeth and I am so excited to have just joined the Titus Women Team! I grew up in Paris, Kentucky, just a few miles down the road from Wilmore, and I graduated from Asbury University in May of 2012. I was a History major and a Literature minor. I also managed the swim team at the University for four years. After Asbury I spent a semester in London, England, studying and working at a museum. I was involved with a fantastic church in London and spent a significant part of my time worshipping, praying, studying, and fellowshipping with them. While there I felt called to alter my original plans of studying museum administration and look more into church and mission administration.

I already feel so at home at The Francis Asbury Society and everyone here has been so kind that I already feel a part of the family here. I have been so blessed to have received this internship with Titus Women, and I look forward to the next eight months and all they hold!

Last Day in Paraguay

Posted on

This afternoon we speak to Paraguayan women and teen girls in the capital city of Asuncion. Some missionaries feel Paraguay is ripe for revival. Please join us in praying that God will speak and give Linda, me, and Brielle such freedom as they share. And Beth and Aletha as they interact and pray with women and teens. Pray that the translation will be anointed and accurate and that the women and teens would be holy carriers of God’s presence, and that God would give them His passion to pray for their families, churches, communities, nation and the world! Lets join together in praying for revival for Paraguay!

Paraguay Update

The retreat for the missionary women is over — Jesus came and women heard and responded. They were drinking it in! We’re back at the Bowens’ home now, and today the team had the privilege to help celebrate two missionary kids birthdays and meet two missionary families serving Jesus here. Tonight is the first of two evening meetings sharing Jesus with women and children in this community. We’re so grateful for your prayers!

Aletha and Linda hearing about the amazing children’s home and school that Sara and her husband head up. Sara now has A Girl’s Guide to Prayer to use with her girls. So fun to hear about all God is doing!

An Update from Beth

Dear Precious Praying Friends,

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye Heavenly Host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Radiation is through! Yippee!! Jesus is so amazing! My last day was Wednesday. When we drove down our street after the last treatment, there were pink balloons on the mailboxes, signs on our door, and a praise Jesus sign in the neighbor’s yard! Al and I felt like the children of Israel did in Psalm 126:3 when they returned to Jerusalem after their exile in Babylon. “The Lord has done great things for us and we are glad.”

Thank you with all our hearts for standing with us for the past ten month triathlon, as Carolyn Johnson says, of surgery, chemo, and radiation. The funny thing about cancer is, when the treatment is over there are lingering side effects. Some will get better and some things will never be the same.

I was reflecting with Jesus on this as I awakened Thursday morning. He was so sweet and again gave me Isaiah 43 and 44.

But now thus says the LORD,
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.”
(Isaiah 43:1-2 ESV)

Jesus has been with us in the fire this year. “We have not been burned.” I am very red but not scorched thanks to your loving prayers. We lived through all the treatments and I never thought I could. It is a miracle!

Thus says the LORD,
who makes a way in the sea,
a path in the mighty waters ….
“Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.”
(Isaiah 43:16-19 ESV)

Jesus is doing a new thing, even though it’s not quite clear. Verse 16 says, “He is making a way in the sea and a path in the mighty waters.” The reality is, no one can make a path in the sea – only Jesus!!

When you and I cannot see a path into the future and don’t know what He will permit or allow, we can remember as Psalm 77:10-14 says, we can remember and meditate on His goodness and talk about His faithfulness in the past and realize once again all the miracles of His sustaining love that He has worked on our behalf. Verse 14 sums it up. “You are the God who works wonders” (77:14).

After my mother, Elsie Kinlaw, went to be with the Lord Jesus, we found in her prayer journal this marvelous quote, “I don’t have to be afraid of tomorrow, because Jesus has already filled tomorrow with Himself.” What a glorious way to live – loving, trusting, and enjoying Him even with cancer and recovering from cancer!

I love you, precious friends. Thank you for standing together with us “back to back.”

“We don’t make our way, or find our way. We follow Him!” – Samuel Chadwick (Oh, happy thought!)
